Summer employment rates continue to rise, with job gains of 215,000 in July, according the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The employment rate remained unchanged at 5.3 percent.
In a statement to Hotel Online, David Huether, senior vice president for research and economics at the U.S. Travel Association, says that 13,400 travel jobs were added in July to reach a new record high of more than 8.1 million.
The accommodations sector also experienced a rise in employment last month, as 2,300 jobs were added in July . This contributed to an overall gain of 33,300 in franchise employment, reports ADP.
