The hotel industry in Rio de Janeiro saw a higher performance lift as host of the 2016 Summer Olympics than London in 2012 and Beijing in 2008, according to STR. That being said, Rio’s post-Olympic challenges will also be greater, with 23 percent more rooms in the market than a year ago. Read more here.
