The Most Popular U.S. Destinations for Winter 2018

Data from trivago has revealed the most popular U.S. destinations based on search volume for both domestic and international travel to the country this winter. Among other insights, the data shows that more than two-thirds thirds of all search inquiries to U.S. destinations have been made by domestic travelers, the average clicked price per night in New York City is 107 percent higher than in Las Vegas, and visitors from Brazil and Argentina search for the longest stays, at seven days on average.

Based on search volume, 76 percent of international searches for destinations in the United States come from 10 countries. Travelers from Canada make up the biggest group followed by visitors from Brazil, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Mexico, Japan, Italy, and France.

This winter, Las Vegas is the most searched destination among U.S. residents traveling domestically, whereas international travelers prefer New York City.
