On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Hard Rock International CEO Hamish Dodds is stepping down in early 2017 to pursue new opportunities. He has lead the company for 13 years.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Joseph S. Khairallah has been named president of Marcus Hotels & Resorts. Khairallah joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2013 as chief operating officer, and in 2014 he assumed day-to-day oversight for the hotel division and became a member of The Marcus Corporation Executive Management Committee.

Virgin Hotels has appointed Rani Gharbié vice president of development. Gharbié will be responsible for overseeing the brand’s expansion into the United States and Canada.

St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino has announced the appointment of Eric Sala as executive chef for the resort. Sala has over three decades of experience, and in his new role, Chef Sala will oversee the daily operations of the resort’s eight onsite restaurants, work closely with the culinary teams, and coordinate catering for special events

Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa has promoted former managing director Michael Kin to chief operating officer, and Cindy Racco will serve general manager of the resort. In his new role, King will be responsible for developing strategies across finance, sales, marketing and talent and Racco will oversee all operations.

The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va., has announced five appointments to its food and beverage team for the 250th anniversary year for the resort. Severin Nunn has been appointed executive chef; John Ferguson will serve as executive sous chef; Hector Cardwood Cruz has been named executive pastry chef; Wayde Carder has been appointed banquet chef; and Cary Burrescia will serve as chef de cuisine.

Hyatt Regency Austin has announced Chris Howard as its new director of sales and marketing. Howard joins the hotel from Hyatt Regency New Brunswick where he was the director of sales and marketing. As director of sales and marketing, Howard will oversee the hotel’s marketing and sales department. He will also manage and direct marketing efforts to drive business to the property and increase revenue.

Marriott International has appointed Kerstin Sachl as director of public relations and social media for the Caribbean and Latin America region. In this role, Sachl will develop and lead public relations and social media strategies that integrate into Marriott International Caribbean and Latin America’s overall development and marketing plans.

CHMWarnick announced that Jalil Mekouar has joined the company as managing director and executive vice president. Mekouar previously served as COO and managing director of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality.
