On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Loews Hotels has announced the appointment of Greg O’Stean as chief investment officer. With nearly three decades of leadership experience in commercial real estate, including hotel development and acquisitions, O’Stean will oversee acquisitions and development, asset management, and owner relations for the company’s three brands, Loews Hotels & Resorts, Loews Regency, and OE Collection.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Davidson Hotels & Resorts has named Thom Geshay as co-chief operating officer with Patrick Lupsha. Geshay will solely assume the COO role upon the retirement of Lupsha at the end of this year. Geshay’s new responsibilities will include overseeing operations and portfolio performance for Davidson, generating continued growth for the company.

HotelTonight has announced the hiring of Ray Elias as chief marketing officer. Elias has more than 19 years of e-commerce, marketplace, and marketing experience and will be responsible for all aspects of HT’s brand, communication, customer acquisition, and customer retention.

The American Hotel & Lodging Association has announced the appointment of Jason Brewer as vice president government affairs and strategic initiatives. Brewer is a veteran communications and political affairs professional, having spent the last decade assisting elected officials, candidates, and organizations with strategic planning and message development.

George North has been named vice president of revenue management for Spire Hospitality. With more than 20 years of experience in hotel revenue management, North will provide increased support to hotels within the Spire Hotels portfolio, further positioning Spire for significant growth within the management sector.

Lotte New York Palace announced the appointment of Snezana Zaric as director of diplomatic sales. Zaric will lead the property’s diplomatic sales efforts while continuing to nurture key relationships with valued diplomatic and royal clientele.

Tony Carlucci has been announced as the new president and general manager of Mohegan Sun Pocono. In this new role, Carlucci will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the property.

 Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle-North/Lynwood has appointed Rachel Blake as general manager. Blake most recently served in the director of operations role at the DoubleTree Seattle Airport, where she was responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has announced Akshay Bahl as its new general manager. As general manager, Bahl will be responsible for continuing the success of the hotel and managing day-to-day operations of the property.

Hotel Wailea, Hawaii has appointed a new chef de cuisine—Maui native Zach Sato. Sato joined Hotel Wailea’s culinary team in the summer of 2016 and will work closely with Hawaii’s farmers and artisans to craft dishes in his new role.
