On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

David Hale has been selected as vice president of business development for Spire Hospitality. With over 15 years of experience, Hale has held positions with many firms in the industry and will introduce Spire Hospitality as a management company option to members of the hospitality investment community.

Here’s a look at more notable comings and goings that took place this week.

New Castle Hotels & Resorts has named Kathryn Poulin general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island. She most recently served as general manager of the Hampton Inn in Danville, Ky.

The Westin Portland Harborview announced the promotion of Brian Anderson to director of food and beverage and the appointment of Deborah Pillatsch to director of sales and marketing. Pillatsch is a 20-year hospitality veteran who previously served as senior sales manager at the Providence Baltimore and the MGM Grand-Foxwoods. Anderson was previously the executive chef at The Westin and will continue in that role while assuming additional administrative responsibilities.

Industry benefits leader John Eriksen has joined the Hospitality Benefits team. Erikson brings more than two decades of experience to the company, having previously led the hospitality vertical at AON Hewitt supporting national and global clients, including 15 major hotel organizations and $1 billion in hospitality benefits spend.

The Hay-Adams has announced the appointment of Nicolas Legret as executive chef. Legret has been working as the chef de cuisine at the Hay-Adams since 2009. In his new role, he will oversee the current culinary team members, senior executive sous chef, and pastry chef.

Cliff House Maine has appointed hospitality veterans John Bradway as director of sales and marketing and Gail Campagna as director of people services. Bradway and Campagna will be responsible for redefining the coastal Maine property leading up to the reopening in August 2016.

Eric Kaszubinski has been named executive chef for Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa. Kaszubinski will oversee the resort’s food and beverage program, which includes McCoy’s Oceanfront, the beachfront restaurant and lounge, as well as in-room dining and catering for meetings and events.

Montage Hotels & Resorts has announced that Robin Kennedy will serve as senior vice president, acquisitions and development. With over 18 years of business development, acquisition, and financial experience, Kennedy will be responsible for growing and expanding the company’s portfolio, which includes both Montage and Pendry branded hotels and resorts within the United States and internationally.

Midas Hospitality has announced the addition of Jimmy Hill to serve as its new director of revenue management. Hill will implement a company-wide revenue management culture and philosophy, as well as handle transient and group pricing strategies, create a proper segmentation mix, and oversee revenue management objectives and strategies to maximize hotel revenue at Midas properties.

Twenty-year culinary and hospitality veteran Jennie Yip has been selected as in-house lifestyle and cultural curator for The Knickerbocker hotel’s three food and beverage outlets, the Charlie Palmer at The Knick, coffee roaster and eatery at Jake’s, and the rooftop bar, St. Cloud.
