On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has named Ashish “Alex” Chopra director of development for the U.S. Southwest region. He brings more than 16 years of hotel franchise development and contract negotiation experience to the company. He has worked in development positions with Hilton, Baymont, Ramada, Days Inn, and Howard Johnson. Most recently, he was with Choice Hotels International for more than a decade.

Here are more notable job moves that took place this week:

Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Calvin J. Banks as director of training and development. He brings more than two decades of experience to his new role and was most recently director of training for the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.

Début Hotel Group and Hampshire Hotels Management have selected David Kuperberg to lead the development efforts of the companies’ lifestyle brands. He has been working with Début since 2013.

Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside has named Michael Ellman director of sales and marketing. He has worked in hospitality for 30 years, most recently as director of sales and marketing and acting general manager at the CoCo Key Water Resort in Waterbury, Conn.

Dominic Buompastore has been named vice president of operations, full service and resorts for Hotel Equities. He started his career more than 29 years ago with Hyatt and went on to serve in several executive positions at various locations.

Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has appointed Ed Curry director of sales and marketing. He joins the company from St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery in Napa Valley, where he held the role of vice president of marketing and direct sales.

Pacifica Hotels has made two executive appointments: Scott Quigle has been named executive vice president of accounting and finance and Chris Marquis has been appointed vice president and principal. Quigle recently worked as vice president and controller for iStar Financial Incorporated. Marquis joins Pacifica from GE Capital’s Experienced Commercial Leadership program.

Lukus Kindlesparker has been named the new general manager for the W Atlanta–Midtown. He has held other positions at the property, including director of rooms and hotel manager.

The Dow Hotel Company has appointed Greg Denton senior vice president of hotel investments. During his nearly 30 years in the industry, he has developed and asset managed more than $6 billion in hotel real estate.

Sage Hospitality has announced two additions to its premier and lifestyle division. Lisa Bailey has been named divisional vice president of sales and marketing, and Tracie Heisterkamp has joined the company as divisional director of revenue management. Bailey previously served as the senior marketing and communications manager at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. Heisterkamp most recently worked in the consulting world, and worked with Sage’s the Nines—a Luxury Collection Hotel in Portland, Ore.
