On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

It was a week of significant career shake-ups in the lodging industry. La Quinta announced that Wayne Goldberg has stepped down from his leadership positions within the company, with Keith Cline, chief financial officer, taking the reins as interim president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Goldberg had been with the company for 15 years.

Belmond Ltd. also made a big change to its executive team this week with the appointment of board member Roeland Vos as the company’s new president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. He succeeds John Scott, who resigned from his position. Previously, Vos served as president of the Europe, Africa, and Middle East division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide from 2001 to 2013.

Noble House Hotels & Resorts has named Catherine Cumings the new director of sales and marketing to Pelican Grand Beach Resort. During her career she has gained experience with brands such as St. Regis and PGA National.

Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the promotion of Greg Champion to president and chief operating officer. He joined the company in 2009, and previously held the title of chief operating officer.

Shawn Eddy has been appointed vice president of real estate sales for Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands. He previously served as a member of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty in Boston, Mass.

The D Las Vegas Casino Hotel has appointed Jeff Victor the vice president of operations. Victor left his position of more than nine years as chairman, president, and general manager of Fremont Street Experience LLC to join the company, effective Nov. 1.

Kim Corrigan has been named general manager of The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Chicago. She recently worked as general manager of Blackstone Renaissance Hotel in Chicago.

Gianleo Bosticco has been appointed senior director of development, Southern Europe at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. Previously, he served as development director of France, Italy, Turkey, and Southern Europe for Meliá Hotels International.

The Shores Resort & Spa has appointed Chris Pranis the new director of sales. He most recently served as senior sales manager at Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Fla.

Baskervill has named Gary M. Inman vice president of hospitality. He has 20 years of experience in boutique and luxury work.
