New York Hotels Agree to Cut Greenhouse Gases

Sixteen New York hotels, including the Waldorf-Astoria New York, the Lotte New York Palace, the Pierre-A Taj Hotel, and the Crowne Plaza Times Square, have pledged to cut greenhouse gases from their buildings by 30 percent or more in the next 10 years, reports Associated Press. The agreement is part of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s NYC Carbon Challenge program, part of City Hall’s plan to slash citywide greenhouse gases 80 percent by 2050.
