Morgans Hotel Group Opens Delano Property in Marrakech

NEW YORK—Morgans Hotel Group announces the opening of its newest international property, Delano Marrakech.

In partnership with Moroccan entrepreneur Ahmed Bennani’s Hivernage Collection and Marbella Club (MC) Hotel Group, the 71-room boutique hotel offers four culinary destinations, a spa, three pools, luxury boutiques, and a dynamic nightlife venue. Delano Marrakech is Morgans Hotel Group’s second global outpost of its signature luxury brand.

Designed by Jacques Garcia in collaboration with Morgans Hotel Group’s design team, the hotel’s interior blends precious marbles with velvet and other rare textiles. A central rotunda commands the lobby space and features bold white columns, a ceiling made of hand-carved wood, and a skylight.

The 44 guestrooms and 27 suites feature king sized beds, headboards painted by local artist Noureddine Daifallah, and traditional Moroccan lighting. iPads will be available in every room, allowing guests to order room service or browse hotel amenities at the touch of a screen.

Delano Marrakech offers several food and beverage components. At Pomiroeu, Michelin-starred Executive Chef Giancarlo Morelli serves Northern Italian cuisine in a space on the hotel’s lobby level. For a more casual dining experience, Galerie provides an international cafe menu, set beneath the hotel’s rotunda, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as through room service. Presiding over the hotel’s upper deck, Namazake presents an upscale eastern dining offering. The Japanese Sake and Sashimi concept from MC Hotel Group unfolds onto the hotel’s rooftop deck. Sky Lounge is Delano Marrakech’s outdoor rooftop venue, where guests can order specialty cocktails and enjoy live music.

MC Hotel Group also has plans to bring their Suite Lounge to Delano Marrakech as an underground nightlife venue, which is scheduled to open in 2013. The Group will also unveil a new restaurant concept at Delano Marrakech, called Bon R, slated to open late 2012.

The hotel’s Pearl Spa is a 20,000-square-foot facility beneath the hotel’s main level. The spa features separate women and men’s hydrotherapy circuits that can accommodate up to four guests at one time, as well as an subterranean mosaic pool, full-service beauty salon, and fitness center. The facility also offers a private hammam area, equipped with its own lounge area, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and two limestone treatment beds.
