Kessler Collection Breaks Ground on New Grand Bohemian Hotel

ORLANDO, Fla.—The Kessler Collection, a portfolio of 10 boutique hotels and restaurants, hosted a groundbreaking event commencing construction on Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook, in the Mountain Brook suburb of Birmingham, Ala. on Thurs., Jan. 16.

During the ceremony, area influencers including Mountain Brook Mayor Lawrence Terry Oden and key executives from The Kessler Collection, Inland American Real Estate Trust, and Daniel Corporation recognized the dedication to the project, while various guests were introduced to The Kessler Collection’s Bohemian-style brand.

“Today is the beginning of a new venture, offering, and partnership,” said Richard C. Kessler, chairman and CEO of The Kessler Collection. “We believe the Grand Bohemian Hotel will be an inspiring place that will meet community needs and surpass expectations, while adding to the quality of life here in beautiful Mountain Brook.”

Set to debut in early 2015 as an Autograph Collection hotel, in the city of Mountain Brook’s Lane Parke Village development, the 100-room boutique hotel will boast an on-site Grand Bohemian Art Gallery, signature Poseidon Spa, interactive cooking school, wine blending experience, 12,630 square feet of meeting space, and rooftop terrace and restaurant.

“We’re very proud to be investors in Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook,” said Barry Bloom executive vice president of asset management and chief operating officer at Inland American Real Estate Trust. “When Richard came to us with the opportunity to invest alongside them in this project, it was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down.”
