JW Marriott Debuts Two New India Properties

MUMBAI, India—Marriott International’s global luxury brand JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts is continuing to grow it’s India portfolio with the opening of two new hotels—in Bengaluru and New Delhi—within weeks of each other. These will be JW Marriott brand’s fourth and fifth hotels in India.

JW Marriott Bengaluru opened its doors on September 12. The five-star hotel offers 297 rooms and suites, including one Presidential Suite, and features a collection of Indian artwork curated by Geetu Hinduja, director of The Fine Art Company, an art consultancy located in Mumbai. Guests are invited to indulge in six different dining options, including wine, antipasti and prohibition cocktails at Bar Uno; rustic Tuscan fare at Alba; authentic Indian cuisine at Spice Terrace; delectable baked goods and gourmet products at grab-and-go patisserie Bengaluru Baking Company (BBC). The property also includes a luxury Spa by JW, offering six different treatment rooms, a heated outdoor pool, casual Pool Bar and cabanas, and fitness center and yoga studio. JW Marriott Bengaluru features more than 1,000 square meters (10,000 square feet) of indoor and outdoor event space.

Offering 523 guestrooms, JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity, which debuted on October 18, provides six restaurants and lounges, including the signature Japanese restaurant Akira Back; grab-and-go patisserie and retail shop Delhi Baking Company (DBC); K3, one of the largest restaurants in New Delhi, offering North Indian, Cantonese, and Tuscan cuisines; and the JW Lounge, a casual space offering cocktails and coffee. The hotel also features the Quan Spa, offering signature spa treatments, a fitness club, and an outdoor swimming pool.

In 2002, JW Marriott opened its first hotel in India in Mumbai. In 2011, following the overwhelming success of Mumbai came JW Marriott Chandigarh followed promptly by JW Marriott Pune in March 2013. The JW Marriott Pune (formerly the Pune Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre) is the only hotel in Pune and the first Marriott in India to receive the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
