Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Planned for Site Next to Peninsula Chicago

    Real estate developer Albert Friedman, CEO and chairman of Friedman Properties Ltd., plans a 45-story tower with 613 hotel rooms next to the Peninsula Chicago. If built, the hotel project would count among the biggest off the Magnificent Mile in decades. A venture led by Friedman filed plans with the city of Chicago last week for the project. The venture between Friedman, one of the largest landlords in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, and White Lodging Services Corp., a Merrillville, Ind.-based developer, plan a building with two hotels, a Hyatt Place and a Hyatt House, according to people familiar with the project.
