Hotel Andaluz Adding Tapas Restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– After years of admiring Chef James Campbell Caruso’s creations, Gary Goodman, owner of the historic Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque, N.M., has partnered with the notable chef to bring his talents to Albuquerque residents and visitors.

MÁS will be a full-service restaurant and tapas bar inspired by the bold flavors, rich history and exuberance of Spanish cooking. MÁS will offer fresh reinventions of traditional Spanish cuisine with an emphasis on locally-sourced foods and high-quality imported ingredients and spices.

Chef James Campbell Caruso is a five-time James Beard Award Nominee who is widely known for his two successful restaurant concepts in Santa Fe – La Boca and Taberna.

“I am so excited about this addition to the Albuquerque restaurant community and cannot think of a more fitting backdrop than Hotel Andaluz,” said Goodman. “Our city has wonderful Spanish influences. My dream since opening the hotel was to have a true Spanish-style dining experience. I have no doubt that is what Chef Caruso will bring.”

Chef Caruso will run the entire Food & Beverage program for Hotel Andaluz. A musician himself, Chef Caruso will also develop a live music program for the restaurant.

“I have always felt a special connection to the Hotel Andaluz,” said Chef James Campbell Caruso. “It’s a stunning property and I appreciate their commitment to history and sustainability. The hotel has received many national accolades and I am thrilled to lead the charge on a restaurant that is befitting a hotel of this caliber.”

MÁS is set to be complete in October, following a remodel of the current restaurant Lucia
