Hilton Worldwide expands in Poland with Signing of Hampton by Hilton Warsaw

WARSAW, Poland—Hilton Worldwide announced the signing of a management agreement with S+B Gruppe AG to open a new landmark Hampton by Hilton hotel in Warsaw city center, which will be the largest of its kind in Europe. With Warsaw’s growing popularity as a hub for business and leisure travellers, the Hampton by Hilton brand meets the city’s increasing demand for good quality, affordable accommodation. The hotel will be a new build scheduled to open early 2014.

In just four years since the opening of the first Hilton Worldwide property in Poland, the company has managed to grow its portfolio to include 15 hotels, under four of its internationally renowned brands, which are either currently open or in the pipeline, in locations across the country. Today’s signing also means a further expansion of the company’s award winning Hampton by Hilton brand, the first of which opened earlier this year in Swinoujscie, taking the number of Hampton by Hilton properties in operation or due to open in Poland, to six.

In an announcement, Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development Hilton Worldwide Europe and Africa, said, “Poland is a key development market for Hilton Worldwide and today’s signing of our largest Hampton by Hilton in Europe demonstrates the momentum that exists behind our world leading brands. Our presence in the country continues to grow and this is another major strategic step in our expansion into Eastern Europe. We are looking forward to this new relationship with with S+B Gruppe AG who are highly influential and well respected in the industry and within the region.”

Austrian based S+B Gruppe AG – a private project developer of real estate in Vienna, Prague, Bucharest and Warsaw -successfully acquired the project in Wspolna 72 last year. Upon its completion the property will feature 300 rooms over 17 floors, making it one of the largest Hampton by Hilton hotels in Europe and one of the second largest in the world. The building has a gross floor area of 12,500 square meters and construction work is scheduled to begin this month.
