Hilton Worldwide Announces Hilton Garden Inn Development in Montevideo, Uruguay

MCLEAN, Va.—Hilton Worldwide today announced the signing of a management agreement to operate a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Montevideo, Uruguay. The new-build 168-room Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo, expected to open in late 2014, represents the brand’s eighth development project in Latin America and Hilton Worldwide’s first managed hotel in Uruguay.

Hilton Worldwide will operate the hotel under the terms of a multi-year management agreement as part of its growth efforts in Latin America.

As part of our expansion throughout Latin America, we have always recognized the importance of establishing a presence in this key Latin American city,” said Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America for Hilton Worldwide, in an announcement. “We couldn’t be happier to work with Estudio Lecueder, and look forward to welcoming travelers to experience all that Montevideo has to offer.”

Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo will feature 168 guestrooms, all with the Garden Sleep System allowing guests to adjust the firmness and softness of the bed, ergonomic Mirra chair by Herman Miller, LCD high-definition, flat-screen television, alarm clock with MP3 connectivity, a work desk, and a “hospitality center” that features a mini refrigerator and coffee maker.

Dining options will include a full service restaurant offering freshly prepared full, cooked-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a lobby lounge. The hotel will also feature the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry shop with a selection of delicious readymade meals, beverages and snacks.

Recreational facilities will feature an outdoor swimming pool and a complimentary fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment, locker rooms, and Stay Fit Kits that can be checked out from the hotel front desk and enable guests to do yoga, Pilates and core workouts in the privacy of their guestroom or in the workout facility.

Travelers to Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo will also have access to meeting space, and signature Hilton Garden Inn brand attributes such as complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour business center.
