Hilton Orlando Breaks Ground On New $2.1 Million Outdoor Venue

ORLANDO, Fla.—Hilton Orlando broke ground this week on a more than 2-acre outdoor event site adjacent to the hotel’s ballroom foyer to be known as The Promenade. By early fall, and with an investment of $2.1 million, Hilton Orlando will have a new 50,000 square foot outdoor event venue to accommodate receptions for up to 3,000 guests.

“This new space, which we are calling The Promenade, was specifically designed around the guest’s experience,” said General Manager Doug Gehret. “The Promenade will have four distinct spaces and lawns for large scale events, or more intimate gatherings surrounded by unique gardens, a centerpiece fountain and will be event-ready.”

When the hotel opened in September 2009 less than four years ago, the site where Hilton Orlando now sits was 27 acres of dirt.

The 1,417 room hotel recently won its third Connie Award, which recognizes it as one of the top Hilton Hotels and Resorts properties in the world.
