Four Points by Sheraton to Debut in Berlin

BERLIN—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced plans to introduce its Four Points by Sheraton brand to Berlin in 2014. Owned by Proprietas s.r.o., Four Points by Sheraton Berlin Airport will be the first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Berlin and the third for the brand in Germany. This new-build hotel will be located adjacent to a new business park and just a few kilometres from Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, which is currently under construction in Germany’s capital city.

The signing of Four Points by Sheraton Berlin Airport is part of Starwood’s expansion strategy to open more than 25 hotels across Europe over the next four years.

“We are delighted to partner with E&O Hotels as we introduce the Four Points by Sheraton brand to Berlin,” said Roeland Vos, president, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa, and Middle East, in an announcement. “Growing the Four Points by Sheraton brand in key European markets, where we see strong demand for affordable yet innovative lodging options, is core to our development strategy.”

Four Points by Sheraton Berlin Airport will feature 253 guestrooms, two restaurants, a lobby bar, a 24-hour fitness center as well as meeting and event space and a business center. The hotel will also feature all of the brand’s defining elements, including the signature Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort bed and free Wi-Fi in all public areas.

“With one of the strongest pipelines in the Starwood portfolio, Four Points by Sheraton offers a compelling blend of comfort, style and affordability, making it an increasingly attractive choice for owners and developers across Europe,” said Bart Carnahan, senior vice president acquisitions & development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa & Middle East.

Starwood currently operates over 70 hotels and resorts throughout East Central Europe, including 25 hotels in Germany. Over the next two years, Starwood will open three new hotels in Germany under the company’s Element, Westin and Four Points by Sheraton brands.
