Choice Hotels Gives Back to Rockville Community

ROCKVILLE, Md.—Choice Hotels International and its employees spent the day rebuilding and renovating Interfaith Works Wilkins Avenue Women’s Shelter in partnership with housing organization, Rebuilding Together on Nov. 22. This deepens Choice Hotels’ commitment to Montgomery County and the City of Rockville.

Interfaith Works Wilkins Avenue Women’s Shelter is a nonprofit agency which houses 65 women with nowhere else to turn, providing shelter, food, and social services to help them gain independence.

The Choice Hotels team spent the day assisting with tasks such as replacing and installing new mattresses, constructing outdoor benches, installing individual cork boards, landscaping, light carpentry work, and more. Last fall, Choice Hotels also provided support to InterFaith Works Clothing Center.

“Providing for those in need of shelter makes sense to us as a hotel company,” said Steve Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International. “Our associates want to take real action to show how serious we are about supporting the local community.”
