Carlson Rezidor Announces Hotels in Canada, the Caribbean, and South America

CHICAGO— Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced, from its annual business conference, new developments in the Canadian market with the addition of three new hotels. The company also announced the development of five hotel properties and one recent opening in the Caribbean and South America.

“Our goal has always been to maintain our status as a leader in providing first-class accommodations that are both convenient and cost efficient for travelers of all types,” said Bob Kleinschmidt, chief development officer and chief financial officer, Americas. “With our newest additions, we will be able to better provide business professionals and vacationers with our outstanding customer service and unrivaled World of Radisson amenities.”

New additions the Canadian portfolio include:

Radisson Hotel & Convention Center Calgary Airport East: The first to open along a newly constructed access road near the Calgary International Airport, this 120-room hotel is expected to open May 1. Featuring a 600-guest meeting space, this hotel will be situated near both commercial developments and a residential area.

Park Inn by Radisson Toronto-Markham: This newly renovated, 170-room hotel is expected to open in March 2013. Located in Markham, a short drive from downtown Toronto, the hotel will offer the brand’s own restaurant concept, RBG, meeting and convention space, and recreational facilities including an indoor pool and fitness center.

Park Inn by Radisson Calgary Airport: Located two miles from the Calgary International Airport, this 228-room hotel is expected to open in Q4 2014. The hotel will cater specifically to business professionals with a business center and meeting space to accommodate more than 500 guests.

Hotels coming to the Caribbean and South America include:

Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados: This beachfront resort is expected to open in May 2013. The resort will feature more than 400 feet of ocean views from 124 guestrooms. The resort also offers an authentic Caribbean restaurant and bar.

Radisson Grenada Beach Resort (St. George): This 229-room hotel is expected to open in the third quarter of 2013. Recreational options include: scuba diving, tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool and a swim-up bar. The hotel’s food and beverage options will include an all-day dining restaurant, in addition to a beachfront snack and cocktail bar.

Radisson Port of Spain Trinidad: This urban property, expected to open in the third quarter of 2013, will cater to both business and leisure travelers seeking a well-positioned hotel with modern luxuries. The hotel will boast 243 rooms and more than 15,000 square feet of convention space for meeting professionals, while offering an outdoor pool and a Caribbean-inspired restaurant for leisure guests.

Park Inn by Radisson San Jose, Costa Rica: Opened this month, this newly built, urban, 135-room hotel caters to business travelers. The hotel features Carlson Rezidor’s restaurant concept, RBG, and is the first of its kind in Central America offering an international menu with a local twist.

Park Hotel by Radisson Vespucio (Santiago, Chile): This hotel offers 126 rooms situated within the industrial zone of Santiago, providing a destination for business professionals. The hotel is expected to open in 2014 and will feature a business center, accompanied by a meeting space built to hold more than 200 attendees.
