MINNEAPOLIS—The Carlson Family Foundation, in partnership with global travel and hospitality company Carlson, announced a $20,000 pledge to Typhoon Haiyan relief groups to aid recovery in the devastated region and has asked Carlson colleagues worldwide to consider personal donations as well in support of its Philippines-based colleagues and hotels.
“As in the case of other global disasters, we believe it is our responsibility to do what we can to help our neighbors in need—wherever they may live,” said Trudy Rautio, president and chief executive officer for Carlson. “Carlson, in partnership with the Carlson Family Foundation and our businesses, is pleased to commit more than $50,000 to the relief efforts and we have encouraged our customers and employees to join us in this important humanitarian effort.”
The foundation, in partnership with Carlson, contributed $10,000 to the International Rescue Committee Typhoon Haiyan Fund and $10,000 to the American Red Cross Typhoon Appeal.
In addition, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s loyalty club, Club Carlson, is encouraging members to donate Club Carlson Gold Points to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief effort via the Club Carlson website, which will be matched by a donation from the Carlson Family Foundation of up to $10,000.
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Asia Pacific, which operates two hotels in the region, including the Park Inn by Radisson Davao and the Radisson Blu Cebu, is collecting donations to benefit its own employees who were impacted by the typhoon.
