Arizona Senate Tentatively Prevents Cities from Banning Airbnb

    A bill that would prevent local governments from banning short-term online rentals received preliminary approval in the Arizona Senate yesterday. The proposal expands on Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey’s plan to make the state a mecca of the sharing economy. While the lodging industry welcomes new players into the marketplace, the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association would like to ensure the new law doesn’t provide a loophole for renters with multiple residential properties.
