Fountain Lounge Undergoing Reno at The Roosevelt New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS—The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, will pay tribute to its storied past while celebrating its future with the opening of the new Fountain Lounge, a raw bar offering locals and guests a destination for live music, cocktails, and small plates.

“At the Roosevelt, we’re constantly exploring the balance between celebrating our enchanting history and creating the next chapter in our future,” said Tod Chambers, general manager of The Roosevelt New Orleans. “The Fountain Lounge will exemplify this ideal marriage of history and modernity and offer locals and guests an experience unlike any other in the city.”

Originally opened in 1938, the new Fountain Lounge will feature live entertainment with a focus on wines by the glass a full raw bar serving an array of oysters and shellfish from the Gulf Coast and a sampling of raw seafood from around the world.

Featuring rich wood flooring, new fabrics, and high-end finishes, the new Fountain Lounge will balance its glamorous past with modern touches. Just as hotel patrons did in the 1930s, the Fountain Lounge patrons will enter the restaurant from the main hotel lobby instead of the Sazerac Bar.

The newly renovated space is expected to open this Fall.
