Waramaug Renovates Holiday Inn Express & Suites Plantation

Boca Raton, Fla.—Waramaug Hospitality, a private investment group focused on acquiring legacy-branded assets in the United States, has completed a $2 million renovation of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation. The renovation focused on all aspects of the property including guestrooms, public areas, and meeting rooms.

“This extensive renovation modernized this property putting it well above any competition in the market,” says Rae Salling, senior vice president of asset management, Waramaug Hospitality. “The property is positioned to provide business and leisure guests a property that allows them to focus on the purpose of their trip while making them feel they have made a smart value choice.”

The Litt Group oversaw the renovation process for the property. The hotel’s guestrooms received new carpet and window sheers. The property also made updates to meet the new IHG Formula Blue standards designed to meet guests’ changing needs while driving value for ownership, such as adding an enclosed buffet in the ‘Great Room’ to separate the breakfast area. Public spaces received new carpet, lighting, vinyl, and a new color scheme along with upgraded bathrooms, and the meeting rooms have new soft goods and banquet chairs. Exterior improvements included a new color scheme along with redone porte-cochere and landscaping.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Plantation is located near commercial business and residential areas and is in driving distance to thoroughfares such as the Sawgrass Mills Mall, Sawgrass Corporate Park, BB&T Center, and the Fort Lauderdale airport. Adjacent to the hotel is the regional headquarters of Motorola and Magic Leap, along with the main offices of American Express, AT&T, and Nova Southeastern University.
