Venetian to Debut New Cocktail Bar

LAS VEGAS—This December, The Venetian Las Vegas is rewriting the rules for Las Vegas nightlife with the debut of The Dorsey, a new “must-visit” spot for innovative craft cocktails served in a comfortable and upbeat environment, with a level of subtlety and sophistication unmatched in the city.

The cocktail bar, created in collaboration with a renowned team of New York City hospitality notables, will offer great drinks and music, and put The Venetian back at the forefront of sophisticated and “grown-up” nightlife in Las Vegas. With music curated nightly based on the vibe of the crowd, The Dorsey will be the perfect spot for an intimate drink for two, or for a livelier weekend night after dinner or before hitting a club.

The Dorsey will inspire each guest’s passion for innovative mixology with engaging service and an inventive and well-designed cocktail menu by award-winning barman Sam Ross of New York City’s Attaboy fame.

David Rabin, the creative mind behind New York City hot spots Café Clover, The Skylark, The Lambs Club and JIMMY at the James, assisted The Venetian in creating a new concept that would be unlike anything else in Las Vegas, offering an enhanced level of quality and discretion while allowing guests to enjoy relaxed conversation over a modern classic cocktail in a fun, upbeat atmosphere.

Designed by James Beard Award winner Thomas Schlesser and inspired by some of the finest cocktail bars from around the world, The Dorsey will make an architectural and design statement as guests approach from the casino floor. It will include a rich combination of materials including French oak, leather, brass and marble. Large leather sofas will provide intimate spaces for gathering and conversation.

“The one thing we’ve been missing at The Venetian is a great cocktail bar, and The Dorsey is just that,” said George Markantonis, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and The Sands Expo. “Whether guests are looking for the perfect place to start an evening with a cocktail, or a spot to stay a while and socialize, The Dorsey will fit the bill.”

The Dorsey will be located on the casino floor of The Venetian, adjacent to Restaurant Row, and will offer an intimate yet energetic environment that’s open to, yet distinct from, the casino.
