Travelocity Launches Hotel Booking App for iOS 7

SOUTHLAKE, Texas—Travelocity announced the release of “Hotel Booking with Travelocity,” a new mobile app crafted specifically for the new iOS 7 operating system.

The app, which joins the family of Travelocity iPhone apps, was recently featured at Apple’s Keynote Event in September and can be used to book hotel stays.

The app features a new, visual layout with images from destinations around the world and AirDrop functionality, which allows users to securely send reservation information to friends and family via email or text message after they book. The app also offers credit card scanning tecnhology to facilitate faster payments.

As with the existing Travelocity iPhone apps, “Hotel Booking with Travelocity” will continue to feature Mobile Exclusive Deals, offering discounts of up to 40 percent for hotel stays booked using the mobile app, and Deals Tonight, highlighting hotel deals for users based on their current geographic location.

“Apple’s iOS 7 operating system dramatically changes the way we approached design at Travelocity,” said Blake Clark, director of mobile for Travelocity. “We want to ensure we stay at the forefront of innovation by becoming one of the first travel companies to provide our customers with an app optimized for this radically different user experience. When we created this app, we started from scratch. We used Apple’s platform as intended and no design detail was too small.”
