Travelers Leave More than 70 Percent of Loyalty Points Unused

    New research shows travelers are leaving over 70 percentof their loyalty points unused.

    In 2016 so far, that means over 195 billion points.

    This data comes from Switchfly, the travel-commerce and loyalty platform that powers airlines like American Airlines, Emirates, and JetBlue, and loyalty programs such as United MileagePlus, InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels and Expedia.

    According to Switchfly over a trillion points have been gone unredeemed since 2010.
