The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove Appoints New Hotel Manager

William Yahr HeadShotCOCONUT GROVE, Fla.– The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami announces the appointment of William Yahr to the position of Hotel Manager. With over 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry, the hotelier will lead and oversee the operation of the 115 room, boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Coconut Grove.

Yahr’s first tenure in the hospitality industry began at the famed Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. During his four and a half years, Yahr held several positions within the Rooms Division, each position providing a new challenge, growth and leadership. Yahr began his career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in 2006, as a Front Office Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park. Soon thereafter, his leadership roles extended to the Assistant Rooms Executive and Executive Assistant Manager of Rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.

After his role at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami welcomed Yahr as the Room Executive in December 2012, with a strong focus and role in the 450 room resort’s guest engagement and service. “Outstanding” is one of Yahr’s favorite words and answer to many questions, as his personal philosophy lends “there is no reason not to be outstanding and provide outstanding service.”

Yahr earned a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management at Penn State University. As an appointed board member of the Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society, Yahr continues to serve as a mentor for students in the hospitality program and recruiter for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
