The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts Debuts The Royal Begonia

SANYA, China—The Luxury Collection, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. unveiled The Royal Begonia, A Luxury Collection Resort, in Sanya. Located on the southern tropical island of Hainan, The Royal Begonia joins the legendary Astor Hotel in Tianjin and The Hongta Hotel in Shanghai as the first Luxury Collection resort in China. With this opening, The Luxury Collection brand continues its growth momentum globally with the debut of ten hotels and resorts in Asia Pacific this year alone.

“The debut of The Royal Begonia on China’s Hainan Island marks a true milestone for The Luxury Collection as we continue our journey to open a record number of hotels and resorts in Asia Pacific by the end of this year,” said Paul James, global brand leader, St. Regis and The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, in an announcement. “As the itinerary of global travelers evolves well beyond the traditional luxury grid, we are thrilled to debut this jewel on the South China Sea as the latest must-visit destination.”

Occupying a 370-meter beachfront location on Haitang Bay, The Royal Begonia features 142 guestrooms and 18 private villas. The resort includes the Luxury Collection Concierge service which provides 24-hour care to guests, including Luggage Liaison, a luggage storage and unpacking/packing service, and News Paper Direct, a print-on-demand service covering over 600 global newspapers.

The hotel features an Abel TOUCH Spa with 21 treatment rooms. And the resort’s culinary experiences include The Begonia, the signature restaurant offering all-day dining with Italian-Californian cuisine; the Spanish-themed Buganvillas Lobby Bar; and the Bayview Lounge, featuring cognac, wines, and cigars.

The Royal Begonia is owned by Long-Island Travel Industry Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Sigma Co., Ltd.
