Sustainability Report Reveals Marriott’s Green Accomplishments

The 2015 Sustainability Report from Marriott has revealed several environmental accomplishments for the brand.

Between 2007 and 2014, Marriott has decreased energy use by 9.4 percent, water use by 22.9 percent, and greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent.

Another highlight from the report reveals that 1,600 Marriott hotels earned TripAdvisor’s GreenLeaders badge, which showcases a variety of eco-friendly hotels, and 140 of Marriott’s locations are LEED-certified.

Furthering its commitment to sustainability, Marriott has also increased efforts to work with like-minded companies. The report says 84 percent of its contracted North American suppliers have a sustainability policy.
