Survey Reveals Travelers’ Wine Drinking Habits

    A survey commissioned by Sheraton Hotels & Resorts as part of its new Sherton Selects wine program has revealed that one in two people would prefer a glass of wine over their spouse or smartphone after a long day.

    Surveying individuals from the United States, Germany, China, Chile, and Argentina, the study examined traveler drinking habits, taste preferences, and spending habits. The results showed that 57 percent of travelers prefer to drink wine to unwind, rather than hit the gym or relax a the spa. Statistics also showed that 60 percent of those surveyed said they drink most while traveling, and 74 percent of respondents said they are more adventurous in trying new wines while traveling.

    In terms of spending habits, more than half of individuals reported they would consider paying more for a premium glass or bottle of wine while traveling, and 67 percent said they would be willing to spend the most on wine while on the road.
