Starwood President and CEO Frits van Paasschen Resigns

    Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide today announced that Frits van Paasschen has resigned as president, chief executive officer, and a director. Adam Aron, a Starwood director since 2006, has been named CEO on an interim basis while the board conducts a search for a permanent CEO. Aron is the former CEO of Vail Resorts and Norwegian Cruise Line, and also served as CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers from 2011 to 2013. Since 2006, he has been a senior operating partner at Apollo Management and CEO of World Leisure Partners, a leisure-related consultancy. Van Paasschen will continue with Starwood as a consultant to assist in the transition.
