Second Quarter 2015 Results Roundup

    Choice Hotels: Net income for the second quarter came in at $35.8 million. Revenues for the second quarter totaled $232.2 million, an increase of 17 percent from the same period in 2014. Domestic system-wide revenue per available room increased 6.7 percent in the second quarter of 2015, as occupancy and average daily rates increased 170 basis points and 3.8 percent, respectively from the same period of 2014.

    Hilton Worldwide: Net income attributable to Hilton stockholders for the second quarter was $161 million, compared to $209 million in 2014. Total revenues rose to $2.9 billion. System-wide comparable RevPAR increased 5.2 percent for the second quarter on a currency neutral basis from the same period in 2014. System-wide occupancy rose 1.3 percent to 79.2 percent, while average daily rate increased 3.4 percent to $142.48.

    InterContinental Hotels Group: In the first half of 2015, revenue increased 1 percent to $915 million and operating profit increased 9 percent to $337 million. Global comparable first half RevPAR was up 5.1 percent, with second quarter comparable RevPAR growth of 4.4 percent.

    La Quinta: Adjusted net income increased 17.8 percent to $24.2 million. Total revenue increased 4.6 percent to nearly $273.9 million. System-wide comparable RevPAR increased 4 percent, ADR increased 3 percent, and occupancy increased 67 basis points.

    Marriott International: Second quarter 2015 net income totaled $240 million, a 25 percent increase over 2014 second quarter net income. Revenues totaled approximately $3.7 billion in the 2015 second quarter compared to revenues of nearly $3.5 billion for the second quarter of 2014. For the 2015 second quarter, RevPAR for worldwide comparable systemwide properties increased 5.3 percent (a 3.1 percent increase using actual dollars).

    Starwood Hotels & Resorts: Income from continuing operations was $136 million, compared to $153 million in the second quarter of 2014. Revenues at Starwood same-store owned hotels worldwide increased 7.3 percent in constant dollars. System-wide RevPAR for same-store hotels increased 4.1 percent in constant dollars compared to 2014. System-wide occupancy rose 1.4 percent to 72.2 percent.

    Wyndham Hotel Group: Reported net income for the second quarter of 2015 was $159 million compared with $153 million for the second quarter of 2014. Revenues were $334 million in the second quarter of 2015, an 18 percent increase over the second quarter of 2014. In constant currency, revenues increased 8 percent. Total system-wide RevPAR was flat when compared with the second quarter of 2014.

    [Update, Aug. 4] Hyatt Hotels: Net income attributable to Hyatt was $40 million during the second quarter of 2015 compared to $74 million in the second quarter of 2014. Comparable owned and leased hotels revenue increased 1.6 percent. Comparable systemwide RevPAR increased 2.2 percent (5.6 percent excluding the effect of currency). Occupancy for comparable Americas select-service hotels increased 50 basis points and ADR increased 6.6 percent.
