Red Lion Hotels Expands Franchise Development Team

SPOKANE, Wash.—Red Lion Hotels Corporation has added two industry experts, Phil Lovas and Mike Castro, as regional vice presidents of lodging development. The addition of Lovas and Castro further enhances the franchise development team as the company accelerates its plan to expand nationally.

“Both Phil and Mike have made an impressive impact on franchising in the hospitality industry,” said Brian Quinn, senior vice president and chief franchise officer for Red Lion Hotels Corporation. “We are confident that with their industry reach, they will be successful in advancing our national growth goals.”

Phil Lovas has more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. He joins Red Lion having worked most recently for InterContinental Hotels Group, where he was regional director of franchise development. Prior to that, Lovas established franchise sales experience with Cendant Corporation where he primarily handled new build developments and conversions in the Mountain West region. Additionally, he serves on the Phoenix Film Foundation Board of Directors.

Mike Castro has been with Red Lion Hotels Corporation since 2010, most recently as vice president, brand services. He is a 20 year hospitality veteran who began his career with Red Lion Hotels serving in various leadership roles at both the corporate and the hotel level. Castro has also worked for Sage Hospitality, CSM Corporation, and Hilton Hotels Corporation.
