Prism to Manage Largest Hyatt Regency in North America

DALLAS—Prism Hotels and Resorts announced today that they have been engaged to manage the largest Hyatt Regency franchise in North America, the soon-to-be 581-room Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport. Prism Hotels and Resorts’ President and CEO Steve Van made the announcement.

“Hyatt Corporation is highly selective in entrusting management companies to operate their Hyatt Regency brand and their approval of Prism puts us in a very small elite group of third-party full-service managers,” Van said.

This announcement continues Prism’s recent trajectory in securing management contracts of some of the most recognized and desirable full-service hotels nationally, namely the 428-room Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, the 290-room Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center, the 543-room Hilton San Francisco Financial District and the Embassy Suites Oklahoma City.

“This opportunity is showing the industry the new face of Prism,” Van said. “We’ve long been recognized for our expertise in managing distressed properties. But, in recent years, we have made an exciting pivot as a company—successfully leveraging our proven management expertise for some of the best hotels in the country. We are honored to be approved by Hyatt for this signature property and look forward to delivering an unmatched guest experience with our best-in-the-business team.”

Once complete, the hotel will include 35,000 square feet of innovative conference center space and two event lawns—The Hyatt Regency Park and The Hyatt Regency Grove, totaling 12,000 square feet. These unique outdoor spaces in the LAX market can accommodate up to 1,050 people. Additionally, the hotel will feature a 13,500-square-foot high-end grand ballroom outfitted with best-in-class culinary equipment and custom LED lighting, a new pool deck surrounded by lush and contemporary spaces and 581 completely new guestrooms and suites outfitted with double-pane, soundproof windows, and state-of-the-art technology.

Renovations of the hotel began last year with an anticipated completion and opening slated for later this year. The hotel is less than 20 minutes from Santa Monica attractions like the Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park, and is just one block from terminal one of the Los Angeles International Airport.
“Prism will soon be announcing a few other outstanding full-service projects that we are close to signing,” said Van.
