Philadelphia Legalizes Airbnb, Plans to Tax

    Philadelphia has become the largest city to legalize Airbnb and similar short-term rentals, according to The Associated Press. The city has changed its zoning rules to allow rentals in residential areas, and plans to tax 8.5 percent of hotel tax moving forward. According to the article, a permit is required for rentals lasting more than 30 days, and rentals cannot last longer than 180 days per year.
