On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ announced today the promotion of Ron Pohl to senior vice president and chief operations officer. He joined the company in 2007, and most recently served as senior vice president of brand management.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place recently:

Ruben Sigala has been appointed chief marketing officer at Caesars Entertainment. Sigala joined Caesars in 2005 and was the company’s chief analytical officer prior to being named interim CMO at the end of May 2016.

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa has announced that Christopher Sessions will join their team as director of sales. Sessions has more than a decade of hospitality sales and strategy experience and will be responsible for overseeing the group sales efforts of the property.

Alan Farwell has joined Hyatt Regency La Jolla as general manager. Farwell has over 26 years of experience working with Hyatt Hotels, most recently serving as general manager of the Hyatt Regency Maui.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts recently announced the appointment of Brett Stewart as senior vice president, development and capital markets. Stewart will be responsible for leading business development and will play a key role in the company’s long-term business strategy.

Hyatt’s global sales and revenue executive, Ty Helms, will be retiring, effective Dec. 31. Helms has been with Hyatt for 25 years and will be succeeded by Jack Horne, who currently serves as Hyatt’s SVP of sales and marketing for the Americas.

Noreen Henry has been named CEO at WayBlazer in Austin, Texas. Henry has more than 25 years of experience in both startup companies and large corporations that provide technology and distribution solutions across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Tim Klein has joined the board of directors for Playa Hotels & Resorts B.V. Klein brings more than 20 years of experience in the travel and leisure sector, most recently serving as president, CEO, and member of the board of directors of Sabre Corporation.

HVS has announced that Ben Levin has been promoted to vice president. Prior to joining HVS, Levin held several positions in operational roles at the St. Regis Atlanta and the Microtel Inn & Suites in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Diamond Resorts International has named Kenneth S. Siegel executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and general counsel. Siegel has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles at multinational organizations. Most recently, he served as the chief administrative officer and general counsel of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
