On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

The Board of Directors at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts has named John Lawn as its new CEO. Lawn joined Hershey in 2004 as director of F&B. He was named COO in June 2016, then president October 2016. Lawn will succeed Bill Simpson, who is retiring at the end of year. Simpson will hold the position of CEO Emeritus until his retirement.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place this week:

John Chan has joined sbe, a lifestyle hospitality company, as senior vice president of development. Chan’s responsibilities include growing sbe’s pipeline and international investments. Before sbe, Chan worked for Starwood Hotels & Resorts for 12 years, overseeing operations and global and strategic development.

Tijuana Jenkins has been promoted to general manager for The Partridge Inn. Jenkins’ career began as front desk manager for the property over 25 years ago, and she has since moved through several positions, including front office manager, revenue manager, and director of sales.

Stephanie Capellas has been appointed as vice president of public relations for The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Working in the Las Vegas market for ten years, Capellas brings experience with entertainment and hospitality brands to the property. She previously worked for the Hakkasan Group.

Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff has promoted Collin Ash as general manager. In his new position, Ash will oversee daily operations as well as maintain employee engagement. Throughout his career at the Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff, Ash has served as operations and front desk manager.

Howard Hospitality Group has announced Darren Law as senior vice president of operations for the Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman. Law will assist in expanding the group to other areas of the island. With 25 years of experience in hospitality, Law has worked in the United States, Middle East, and Caribbean.

Henry Wallace has been announced as director of food and beverage for The Essex – Vermont’s Culinary Resort and Spa. Wallace served as the director of food and beverage as well as executive chef for the Ames Hotel Boston and the Westin Waltham Hotel, both in Massachusetts, prior to his new position.

The Camby, a luxury lifestyle hotel in Phoenix, Ariz., has appointed Joe Martin as food and beverage operator. Martin’s responsibilities include overseeing the Artizen Crafted American Kitchen & Bar, rooftop Wade Poolside Bar, and banquet operations to elevate the dining experiences at the property.

Owner Advisory Group has appointed Greg Hooper as director of asset management. Hooper has experience working for PMHS and Prism Hotels and Resorts in vice president positions. He has also worked for Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, which merged with BENCHMARK in 2016.
