On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Laurie Hobbs has been named vice president of marketing at Marcus Hotels & Resorts. Bringing 30 years of experience in marketing communications in hospitality, she will provide leadership and management to operational areas including marketing, e-commerce, customer relationship marketing, advertising, social media, and public relations. She previously worked as director of marketing at Blue Harbor Resort, Spa, & Conference Center in Sheboygan, Wis.

Here is a look at this week’s notable comings and goings in the hospitality industry:

Sabre has named Zul Sidi vice presidnt of Enterprise data and analytics. He joins Sabre from Rogers Communications, Inc., where he also served as vice president of data management and technology.

Andrew Gajáry has been appointed general manager of Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. He most recently served as general manager at InterContinental New York Times Square.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Menique De La Rosa regional spa director for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and spa director at Rosewood Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. A Rosewood veteran, she previously worked as spa director at Rosewood Tucker’s Point in Bermuda.

Thompson Hotels has announced its executive team for The Cape, the brand’s first Mexican luxury resort. Eduardo Segura will serve as general manager, joining the staff from the Los Cabos Tourism Board, where he was director. Jorge Villarreal has been named director of sales and marketing. He previously worked as director of food and beverage at the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos. Katia Chavez has been appointed spa director. Chavez most recently worked at the Secrets Pureto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort.

Benchmark Hospitality International has named Jessica Milton regional director of public relations–Florida. She most recently served as senior director for communications agency Harrison and Shriftman’s Miami office.

PAR Springer-Miller has appointed Mark Loyd general manger of ATRIO, a guest experience management platform. He joins the team from MultiSystems, Inc., where he most recently held the position of chief strategy officer.

Amangiri, a resort in Canyon Point, Utah,  has announced the hiring of Jacob Anaya as its new executive chef. He has held staff positions at establishments including the Four Seasons Resort, Hulalai and the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.

Hotel Equities has added four new regional sales directors. Garfield Campbell, Kevin Snelgrove, and Beth Hogberg are based in the firm’s Atlanta office, while Nahren Youkhana is working out of the firm’s Texas office. Campbell joins the team from the Sheraton/Westin Complex in Birmingham, Ala., where he worked as director of sales and marketing. Snelgrove has held sales leadership positions within Marriott, Hyatt, IHG, and Wyndham for more than 20 years. Hogberg has been with Hotel Equities for more than 15 years, most recently serving as sales coach to several properties. Youkhana previously was vice president of sales for Sun Development & Management.’

Salamander Hotels & Resorts has appointed Ken Nason vice president of revenue optimization. He will hold the newly created position after serving as vice president of sales and marketing for Remington Hotels’ six hotels in the independent and luxury division.
