On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Rockbridge has hired Marcos Casillas as managing director of asset management. Casillas will focus on creating value for the company’s investors through maximizing the operational performance of the company’s hospitality portfolio.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Radisson Blu Minneapolis Downtown has promoted Stephanie Hartmann to director of revenue management. In this position, Hartmann will implement strategies to drive rate and occupancy to aid in enhanced profits, assist in the creation of the annual budget, and create and control special promotions and rate parity and inventory.

Brookfield Hotel Properties has appointed Kini Sanborn to the position of director of sales and marketing of The Vintage Estate, comprised of The Vintage Inn and Villagio Inn & Spa, located in Yountville, Calif. In this role, Sanborn will oversee the repositioning of the luxury property as it undergoes a major transformation in spring 2017, including the complete redesign of all public spaces, guestrooms at both hotels and the meeting spaces. Sanborn will also oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for both luxury properties, the V Market Place, and Spa Villagio.

The Benson in Portland, Ore., announced the appointment of Shalia Clock as associate director of sales. In her new position, Clock will be responsible for driving business sales for the hotel, overseeing the sales team, and working closely with departments to ensure exceptional client experience and future sales.

Gul Turkmenoglu has joined New York-based Denihan Hospitality as general manager of The Benjamin in midtown Manhattan. Turkmenoglu brings over 25 years of luxury and lifestyle management experience to her new role, having served in leadership positions at a variety of hotels, both in Manhattan and internationally.

Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas has promoted Anthony DiGiovanni to senior business and leisure sales manager of the Lone Star landmark. In this role, DiGiovanni will focus on new business for the 220-room hotel, achieving and exceeding sales goals and executing sales-related activities.

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago has named Peter Simoncelli general manager of the Magnificent Mile hotel. A hospitality veteran of over 30 years, Simoncelli will be instrumental in leading the team and continuing with the success that the hotel has experienced for the past four decades.

Cheryl Latvala will join the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing Hotel as a catering sales manager. She brings more than 15 years of experience working in tourism and hospitality across the tri-state region to her role at the hotel, where she will be responsible for increasing catering-related sales through leveraging the new event space and meeting rooms. Latvala will work with clients to produce unique programs, elevated by the culinary talent of the hotel’s executive chef.

The Roundhouse, a boutique hotel in Beacon, N.Y., has announced the appointment of chef Terrance Brennan as management consultant, and Culinary Institute of America Instructor Tim Buzinski as the restaurant’s new beverage manager.
