On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Loews Hotels has announced the appointment of Alinio Azevedo as vice president, acquisitions and development. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Azevedo will oversee expansions of Loews Hotels & Resorts, Loews Regency, and the OE Collection brands.

Here’s a look at other notable comings and goings that took place in hospitality this week:

Sonesta has named Paul Jensen general manager of the Sonesta ES Suites in Malvern, Pa. In his new role, Jensen will be responsible for overseeing the daily operational activities of the property and its staff, as well as maintaining employee engagement and driving revenue and profitability.

Geolo Capital has named Omar Palacios chief operating officer and Ben Gottlieb as principal. In his new role, Palacios will oversee the asset management and construction functions and continue as chief financial officer, overseeing finance, accounting, and M&A transaction documentation functions for the fund. Gottlieb’s responsibilities will include asset management, acquisitions, and business development.

Outrigger Enterprises Group has announced the appointment of two vice presidents to its executive team. Bitsy Kelley is vice president, corporate relations, and Monica Salter is vice president, corporate communications. Kelley will take on a role of relationships, representing Outrigger to audiences globally through relationship building, community outreach, and company events, and Salter will oversee strategy and direction for internal and external communications to elevate brand awareness and positive exposure for Outrigger worldwide.

Bill Babis has been named general manager of the newly renovated Kimpton Muse Hotel in New York City. Babis will oversee all hotel operations including guest relations, meetings, and restaurant operations.

Lansdowne Resort and Spa, a Destination Hotel in Leesburg, Va., has named Marcus Repp as the new director of culinary operations. Repp has over 20 years of experience and will be responsible for overseeing all culinary brand standards, staffing, training, and recruiting for all on-property restaurants, as well as the catering and banquet services.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton, Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, formerly Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has announced the appointment of several new members of its executive team, including Michael Frits, general manager; Travis Campbell, director of front office; Juli Pray, director of revenue; William Owen, director of food and beverage; and Chad Marshall, executive chef. The new members of the executive team assume their positions as the resort completes a multimillion-dollar renovation and repositioning and prepares to reopen as a DoubleTree in October 2016.

Lori Kendall has been selected to serve as director of sales and marketing for YVE Hotel Miami, a Destination Hotel. Kendall, who brings 18 years of experience to the property, will oversee sales and marketing initiatives.

Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas, Texas, has appointed Andrew Davidson as general manager. In this role, Davidson will be responsible for managing the hotel’s day-to-day success, overseeing all operational aspects of the 220-room property and private club, including everything from sales and marketing to food and beverage, while maximizing company revenue.

JW Marriott Chicago has announced the appointment of Keshia Scott as destination sales executive. In her new role, Scott will be responsible for booking group events to drive group sales and customer loyalty.
