On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Todd Wynne-Parry has been appointed executive vice president of global acquisitions and development for the recently merged companies, Destination Hotels and Commune Hotels & Resorts, comprising Joie de Vivre Hotels, Thompson Hotels, Tommie, and Alila Hotels & Resorts. In his new role, Wynne-Parry will lead global business growth efforts and drive the continued expansion of the company’s five district brands by sourcing and securing management contracts and investment opportunities, as well as overseeing the newly formed team.

Here’s a look at more notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Kimpton’s The Hotel Zamora has announced the recent appointment of John Markunas as the general manger. In this role, Markunas will oversee all property operations including hotel programming and services, marketing and sales, revenue management, and employee relations, while implementing all brand standards and programs, and ensuring each guest receives personalized service.

Sonesta Coconut Grove has announced the promotion of Christian Jaramillo from senior sales manager and assistant director of sales, to director of sales. In his new position, Jaramillo will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the hotel’s sales strategy across all revenue generating areas.

Patrick Mullinix, group president of Signature Inn has been appointed to the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association’s Advisory Board at the organization’s Boutique Hotel Investment Conference in New York City.

Remington Hotels has announced the appointment of Beverly Fox-Crismond to director of spas. Fox-Crismond will lead all spas in the hotel collection, including training and developing the spa team, creating and implementing business processes, and executing new spa openings.

The Cape, a Thompson Hotel and Mata executive Chef Enrique Olvera has announced that Chef Carlos Salgado, chef and owner of the Taco Mariá in Costa Mesa, CA will partner with The Cape’s dining team to co-host a series of Baja-inspired culinary events throughout the boutique Los Cabos resort for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend.

Hotel Boulderado has added several new members to its leadership team and announced the promotion of two employees following the completion of its first phase of renovation. Cindy Hart has joined the team as director of sales and marketing. Peggy Shreeve will join Hotel Boulderado as sales manager for SMERFE (Social, Military, Educational, Regional, and Fraternal & Ethnic) and association markets. Joey Kee will serve as sales manager for corporate and government markets. Samantha Danna will serve as social catering manager working with event and wedding planners. Michelle Diaz will join Boulder’s catering team as catering manager and Duncan Fraser has been promoted to catering manager. David Bartholomew will take on revenue management and Camille Burner was promoted to operations manager, leading the front desk and valet team as operations manager.

Meliá Hotels International has appointed Alex Spektor general manager at INNSIDE, New York. In this new role, Spektor will work closely with the hotel’s director of sales and marketing, Michael Newman.

Andrew Eck has been appointed general manager at Kinzie Hotel. Eck will oversee all hotel operations and guest experience for the 215-room Chicago hotel.

Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel has announced that Robert Shelley will serve as general manager. Shelley brings over 25 years of experience to the Radisson, previously serving as area managing director for Commune Hotels + Resorts where he oversaw seven lifestyle hotels and resorts in the United States and Mexico for their JDV and Thompson brands.
