On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Loews Hotels has appointed George Fleck as senior vice president of brands and marketing. Drawing on more than 20 years of hotel operations, marketing, and brand management experience, Fleck oversees the architecture, marketing, and brand management expansion of the Loews brands. Additionally, the company has promoted two members of its executive team. John Cottril is now COO and Matthew Brenner has been named CFO.

Here’s a look at more notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has appointed Michael Miner as senior vice president of operations. Miner will be responsible for leading overall performance results at full-service hotels in the New York region and other select markets. He previously managed a diverse mix of assets throughout major U.S. markets for HEI Hotels.

Noble House Hotels & Resorts has announced the promotion of Angela Pospichal-Heublein to individual business transient sales manager at The Commons Hotel. Pospichal-Heublein has been with The Commons Hotel team since March 2015. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the corporate-preferred market segment and managing all transient market segment accounts for the property.

The Beverly Hilton has selected Chef Alberico Nunziata as executive chef. Nunziata will oversee the menus and staff of CIRCA 55, in addition to banquet operations, in-room dining, and menus for the hotel’s high-profile events and galas, including the Golden Globe Awards Show, Oscar Nominee Luncheon, and Pre-Grammy Gala.

Sonesta has announced that 15-year hospitality expert Hugh Chandler will serve as general manager of Sonesta Es Suites Columbia, Md. In this role, Chandler will oversee the daily operational activities of the property and staff, maintain employee engagement, and drive revenue and sales.

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa has appointed David Jurcak managing director of the Texas Hill Country golf resort. Jurcak is a 20-year veteran of the Omni brand. In his new role, he will lead all operations across the resort and the neighboring Barton Creek Country Club as well as provide leadership to the resort’s executive management team.

Anne Janis has been selected as director of sales and marketing at Hotel Granduca Houston. Janis boasts more than two decades of experience in the industry and in sales. She will lead the onsite sales and marketing team and create and execute strategies to drive occupancy and increase revenue in her new position.

Brian Bisema has been appointed senior vice president at HVS in Boston, Mass. Bisema recently co-hosted Access HVS Boston. He is a state-certified appraiser and has specialized in legal matters of hotel property taxes and finances.

Jacqueline Cox has been selected to serve as director of sales and marketing for The Quin, New York. With over 15 years of experience in the luxury lifestyle sector, Cox will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts, as well as building business relationships in the region.
