On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Yesterday, Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Thomas J. Baltimore, Jr. as president and chief executive officer of its planned real estate investment trust. He joins the company from RLJ Lodging Trust, the investment trust he co-founded and served as president and chief executive officer. Additionally, Hilton Worldwide announced that Sean M. Dell’Orto would serve as chief financial officer of the planned REIT. He currently works as Hilton Worldwide’s senior vice president and treasurer.

Here’s a look at more notable comings and goings that took place this week:

Coral Hospitality has announced the appointment of Christopher Schaeffer to president. He previously served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of business development for the full-service hospitality management and investment company. Chief executive officer and co-founder Lee Weeks will continue leading the company.

Charlestowne Hotels has announced the appointment of Johnathan Capps as vice president of revenue. Capps will oversee the internal and external revenue management strategies, work to establish new profitability enhancement methods for Charlestowne Hotels and each of the brands managed properties.

Nobu Hotel Eden Roc has announced two new appointments to the hotel set to open in the fall of 2016. Ana Hernandez will serve as the director of catering and Justin McCray has been promoted to the position of group sales manager for the mid-Atlantic.

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa has added Ken Simonds to their team as the new head golf professional at the resort’s two signature courses, the Champions Course and the Legends Course. With over 16 years of experience, Simonds will assist in developing the resort’s guest services and member relations, stand-out golf instructional programs, tournament recruitment, and special events for the two Southern California courses and practice facilities.

Palisades Hospitality Group recently announced the addition of Mosaic Hotel Group to its other businesses, as well as the recruitment of five hospitality veterans. Melony Williams has been named chief operating officer, Skylar Skikos will join PHG as president of Palisades Hotel Partners, Waldemar Franco will serve as president of Forward Hospitality, Michael Wisner will join PHG as co-founder and president of Logis Hospitality Solutions, and Colleen Gray will joing PHG as vice president of finance.

Maria Hirt has been chosen as the new director of sales and marketing for Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Hirt will oversee group and leisure sales efforts for the 309-room resort.

Mario Busquets has been chosen to serve as the new director of sales and marketing for the Knickerbocker hotel. Busquets brings over a decade of marketing and sales experience and will work with the hotel’s executive team on the strategic direction of hotel operations, overseeing all sales and marketing initiatives, the Knickerbocker’s leisure and group sales divisions, and managing all communication initiatives.

The Westin Nashville, set to open fall 2016, has appointed Michael McDavid as director of entertainment, Richard Yamaguchi as director of group sales, and Jessica Burd as sales manager. McDavid will be responsible for leading the hotel’s efforts in securing entertainment and talent, Yamaguchi will oversee the group sales team, and Burd will be responsible for securing corporate and association group business from the western United States and greater Chicago area.
