On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Philippe Zuber has been appointed president and chief operating officer of One&OnlyResorts, Kerzner International Holdings Limited announced. In his role, he will lead the strategic development of the brand. He joins the company with over 20 years of industry experience. Most recently, he was with Emaar Hospitality, where he served as chief operating officer.

Here’s a look at more exciting job moves that have taken place recently:

Chris Alto has been appointed general manager of Westin Fort Lauderdale. Previously, he worked with HEI Hotels & Resorts as general manager of Embassy Suites Boston-Waltham.

AMResorts has promoted Colette Baruth to senior vice president of marketing, sales, revenue management, and distribution. She most recently served as vice president of sales, marketing, revenue management, and distribution for the company for four years.

Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown has appointed Brian B. Berry as its general manager. He has held positions with PHD Hospitality, Eagle Hospitality Development, and HP-Hotels.

John DePiro has been named general manager of Fort Lauderdale Marriott North. With more than 25 years of hospitality experience, he recently worked as area general manager at Hilton Melbourne Beach and DoubleTree Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront in Melbourne, Fla.

Rich Hohman has been named executive director of golf for La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. He previously served as president of Kitson & Partners Golf Division.

Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. has appointed Philipp Knuepfer its new hotel manager. He previously was hotel manager at Mandarin Hotel, Taipei.

Whiteface Lodge has added Garrett Vermette and Christopher Locke to its team. Vermette will serve as assistant general manager. He has nine years of experience at four-diamond, four-star-rated resorts in Florida. Locke has been named sommelier. He has more than a decade of experience in fine dining, wine consultation, and restaurant management.

Olshan Properties has announced Brad Jester as its complex general manager for Residence Inn Columbus and Courtyard Columbus in Ohio. He previously worked at Hyatt Hotels for six years.
