Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort Undergoes $17 Million Transformation

HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort opens a new chapter with a $17 million rejuvenation. Breaking ground in November 2012, the first phase of the renovation is scheduled to be complete April 2013, welcoming guests to a transformed vacation experience.

The full-scale renovation, which includes a second phase set to begin in late 2013, features an new arrival experience, with landscaping and enhancements to the porte-cochere, cedar shake and wood accents, pendant lanterns, and new lighting sconces. The new lobby space offers lounge-style concierge areas and vibrant-colored walls juxtaposed against the white-on-white ceiling.

The outdoor experience includes a renovation of the existing family and adult pools, the addition of a kid-friendly “Splash Pad” and zero-entry pool with ledge seating edging the dune line. The revamped Buoy Bar continues to serve cocktails, sandwiches, salads, and light fare to both beach and pool-goers. From the pool area to the Upper Courtyard, new pavers and landscaping lead guests to the extended dining deck at restaurant hh Prime.

Continuing the evolution of the resort’s outdoor public spaces, Palmetto Market’s outside deck has been extended, while the Palmetto Courtyard has been re-imagined and re-landscaped to provide additional space for outdoor functions, such as weddings or meeting break outs.

The more than 15,000 square feet of current meeting space has been redecorated. New wall coverings, lighting, art work and flooring enhance the interior spaces while special seating and new flooring outside will finish the decks overlooking the Palmetto Courtyard.
