On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

Cara Banasch will join Omni Hotels & Resorts as vice president of sales on May 21. In her role, Banasch will lead all field and global sales teams. She will also create and implement revenue-generating strategies to be used across the brand.

More of this week’s notable hospitality comings and goings:

Howard Tanenbaum was promoted at Playa Hotels & Resort to senior vice president of sales. He will continue to build and expand Playa’s global sales divisions, while overseeing four Playa House & Resort hotels’ sales operations.

Fernando Salazar was appointed senior vice president of food and beverage at Interstate Hotels and Resorts. Salazar will focus on menu development, culinary team training, and helping to establish engaging guest experiences.

Corporate Stays welcomes John Decoste as market manager, United States. Decoste has spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry and will work in this role to make sure Corporate Stays clients have the best possible corporate housing.

Arlo Hotels promoted former Director of Operations Bassim Ouachani to general manager at Arlo SoHo. In this new role, Ouachani is responsible for managing all hotel operations, leading staff training, and leading development initiatives.

Victor Rojas joins The Adolphus as the new general manager of The French Room. Rojas will work with The French Room’s executive chef and the property food and beverage manager to lead this dining destination.

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail announces new hire Meredith Macfarlane as general manager. Macfarlane brings 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry to this position.

Holiday Inn Mount Kisco appointed Olivia Calcagnini as director of sales and marketing. Calcagnini will be responsible for leading hotel sale efforts, working on maximizing revenue opportunities, and ensuring the highest level of service.

Josh Franklin joins the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee as the new director of all things fun. Franklin is the leader of the recreational department and he is responsible for planning and implementing educational and fun activities.

Lauren Carr is the new area director of sales and marketing for Auberge Resort Collection for their Cabo properties, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences and Esperanza. In this role, Carr will oversee the properties’ sales and marketing efforts.

WorldHotels appointed five new people to its executive development team: David Eskander as the new regional vice president of hotel development, the Americas; Pablo Alcacer as senior director of hotel development; Sr. Abelardo (Piro) Hernandez as senior director of hotel development, Latin America; Olav Glorvigen as director of hotel development; and Hatta Teo as senior manager of hotel development, APAC.
