Midas Hospitality Acquires Courtyard Clemson

SAINT LOUIS, Mo.—An investment group led by Midas Hospitality has acquired the 110-room Courtyard by Marriott-Clemson, S.C. for $16.5 million. St. Louis-based hotel owner, operator, and developer, Midas Hospitality, will manage the asset.

The Courtyard by Marriott—Clemson, S.C. is located at 201 Canoy Lane, Clemson, S.C., at the corner of SR-123 & 93, less than 1-mile from the Clemson University campus. The asset boasts 110 guest rooms and suites, fitness center, Bistro restaurant and bar, meeting rooms, and a heated indoor swimming pool.

Robert Willard, president and principal, Midas Hospitality, states, “We are acquiring an award-winning hotel with service delivery in the top 5 percent of the Courtyard by Marriott brand. The addition of the Courtyard by Marriott–Clemson, S.C. to the Midas hotel portfolio in the southeast, further reinforces our aggressive, yet strategic, company growth in this area. It is every exciting to add our first Courtyard by Marriott to our hotel portfolio. The hotel will undergo a $1.5 million PIP in the next 12-months.” Financing for the acquisition was led by Cass Commercial Bank with a participation from Parkside Financial Bank & Trust.

The hotel will make the third Marriott product within the 22-hotel Midas portfolio.
