Marriott Debuts First Aloft in Australia

Perth, Australia–Marriott International announced the official opening of the design-led Aloft Perth Hotel, the first Aloft to open in Australia. Aloft Perth is the centerpiece of an urban renewal project in the Springs Rivervale community located alongside the Swan River and on the doorstep of Perth Central Business District.

“We are delighted that the Aloft brand has arrived in Australia with the opening of Aloft Perth. We are delivering an urban-inspired gathering place for tech-savvy Next Gen travelers and locals–individuals who value self-expression, style and connectivity,” said Mike Fulkerson, vice president, brand and marketing Asia Pacific.

With its vibrant design and public spaces, Aloft Perth’s modern style is reflected in its free-flowing open areas imbued with bold, local influences. The hotel’s personality is communicated through its vibrant collection of artwork by recognized Australian artists to the eclectic, modern decor furnishing its guestrooms and communal spaces. Each of the 224 guestrooms feature Aloft’s plush beds, custom amenities by Bliss Spa, fast & free Wi-Fi, and 55-inch televisions linked to a Plug & Play connectivity panel.

The lively social spaces at Aloft Perth encourage interactivity amongst guests. The brand’s WXYZ bar has live music ranging from acoustic sets by local artists to DJ mixes, and offers pecialty craft cocktails, an extensive wine and beer list, and light bites. The Re:mix (sm) lounge allows guests and local residents to mix & mingle or take a dip in Splash pool. For those on the go, Re:fuelSM by Aloft, Aloft’s signature 24/7 grab and go market, provides light meals, mix-and-match munchies, healthy bites, beverages, and more.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Springs Kitchen, offers contemporary cuisine with homemade specialties that include local, fresh produce. Springs Kitchen has a pet-friendly terrace, with water bowls and special treats for furry friends, encouraging neighborhood residents and travelers with pets to drop by for a coffee, snack, or meal with their four-legged friends.

Tactic meeting rooms offer space for small-scale meetings or large-scale conferences with the capacity for 300 people. The Mezzanine level has space for one-on-one meetings, workshops or smaller events. Aloft Perth also features a rooftop ballroom with an expansive open-air terrace opening out onto panoramic views across the Swan River toward Perth Central Business District and the Indian Ocean.

Outside the hotel, nearby highlights include the Perth Central Business District and Northbridge nightlife, and entertainment districts. Fremantle offers a maze of streets lined with 19th century Victorian-era architecture that has been adapted into charming cafes and boutiques stocked with local goods. Day trips by boat take visitors to Rottnest Island, home of the unique marsupial, Quokka, or by car to the nearby and very popular Swan Valley vineyards.

“As the capital of Western Australia, Perth is a dynamic, growing city, and an important gateway to and from Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The city has an internationally focused export and tourism economy, so we look forward to welcoming business people and travelers from all over the world to our hotel,” said Stephen Morahan, general manager of Aloft Perth.

Further afield, travelers seek out the wineries and beaches of the Margaret River, the Ningaloo coral reefs, and whale sharks at Exmouth, or the endless beaches and unique pearling culture of Broome, gateway to the Kimberley region.
