LEGOLAND Hotel Opening in April

CARLSBAD, Calif.—LEGOLAND Hotel at LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad is ahead of schedule and just announced an opening date of April 5, 2013.

The three-story, 250-room hotel features approximately 3,422 LEGO models created out of more than three million LEGO bricks. Model Builders have just installed the iconic LEGO dragon model which will breathe smoke as guests enter. A LEGO knight, pirate, and adventurer have also been unveiled representing the three themed room choices. Guests can also choose between themed or premium themed rooms—premium themed rooms have additional LEGO models and décor such as themed wall paper.

Each room includes two separate sleeping areas, one for grown-ups and one for up to three children complete with a bunk bed, pull-out trundle bed, and their own TV. Every room includes a treasure chest younger guests can unlock once they complete a special treasure hunt activity finding clues throughout their room. The hotel will feature brightly colored, interactive LEGO décor, a family pool and lounge area, patio, event space, buffet restaurant, LEGO models, and interactive features throughout. LEGOLAND Hotel will be the first of its kind in North America and is designed for families between the ages of two and 12.
